5 Things We like today:

**Headbands

Yes headbands.  And I really like the ones here at Ban.do.

Dudes at bars like them too.  True story.  Always good to carry one in your purse in case you need a costume change at some point in the night.  The ones listed are made by two girls who are stylists from LA, and one is named Jamie!  Love this quote from them: “ jen thinks she is funnier than jamie, but jamie disagrees.”  Hmmm. Sounds familiar, no??

**Alice in Wonderland AND ***Urban Outfitters

There is the amazingness that is this book and these illustrations.  Best.  Thing.  Ever.  Welcome to my dream world.  Check out the video here.

And speaking of Alice…did you ever watch the made for tv version from 1985? It was a 2 night special.. Anywho, you should check it out.....it ROCKS :) There are clips on youtube just search Alice in Wonderland 1985 and they will come up...  creeps my out slightly how slow it moves… but also makes me LOL!!

Another UO contest and one that we Bats entered but did not win…. Wahhhh…. But the pics that did win are pretty cool so check them out here.

**  Taking boy stuff and making it girl stuff
This is such a cool idea!!!  And so creative J  The basic premise is that you send her a shirt of a boy (one you love or one you hate, really doesn’t matter!!) And she makes it into a scarf, pin or messenger bag.  Super cute results, and you can keep him around forever, or just remember you made something good come from him (and then forget him).

** Emotions Can Be Dangerous

Sh*t don’t I know that.  Dangerous, painful and effin’ hard and miserable.  The real statement here is in the pieces!  This is my #1 favorite item right now. I wear it all the times,  usually even to sleep.  Made by a local artist, Sharif, I saw it on Daily Candy and swore it was made for me. Might because it reminds me of my 2 besties in other parts of the country.  Maybe its because it reminds me of La Roux “ My heart melts just like plastic….”  Maybe it’s the shattered dream of my “bag o’ weapons” necklace. Whatever it is, it makes me happy and I want more. Look out for lots more stuff we like from this guy…. I mean really perfect right? Hearts and guns and cold hard shiny plastic… what’s not to L.O.V.E?

I want this… and this….

Check out all of it here.

RANDOMNESS Y'ALL

So the bats are in Texas this weekend.  Just bats being bats.  Hanging upside down by day, and partying in sparkles by night.

I got to eat an avocado stuffed with chicken.  And fried.  I got to almost steal a tip jar, and got a cup with Mr. Nacho on it.

I got to talk to DFW about going to a psychic.  Her biggest concern for me is that the psychic will tell me I am going to become a lesbian in 5 years.  This is not my biggest worry.  All of my hair falling out is my biggest worry.

I got to eat breakfast tacos.  Twice.  In one day.

We had to bring outfits over to Dixie’s place.  We brought about the same amount as what I expect an impoverished person to have in their closet.  It turned into a pile of black sparkles.

We saw a Justin Beiber impostor!

We are trying to play a drinking game on Facebook.  Its not working out so well.  We are supposed to drink every time we see an attractive person.  They are few and far between  we don’t count.  Neither do our own pages.

I scared the deaf 3 legged cat with the hairdryer.  Now he is really freaked out by me.  I keep making weird noises at him and forgetting he can’t hear me.

We went to the museum and this little girl told my kiddo to stop following her.  I encouraged this behavior.  If I had a girl I would be buying her glitter hair extensions and telling her that boys suck.  Or stink.

We stole glasses and are drinking mimosas out them.

Appropriate photo props include but are not limited to: sleeping people, dogs that match our outfits, glasses, and toys from vending machines that look like butts.  With hair on them.  Or penises.

We went to a playmates birthday party last night.  It made our boobs feel small.  There was this crazy chick who served as both entertainment and annoyance for the night.

The Misadventures continue….

MIXY MATCHY

My mother is constantly telling me I look "interesting." She also claims that my clothes don't match. I tell her they go together. She says they don't. This happens every time we see each other. Every single time. So I have a secret file I keep on my computer of outfits that may or may not match. Its like my "I know what I'm doing when I get dressed, Mom" file. Today I sent her these gems with the subject: clothes that don't match but people wear anyway. She will see that I am right eventually.

Ps. What's the opinion on socks with peep toes? Super dorky trend that will soon disappear? School girl wannabe? What's the appropriate age for this anyway?

BURN BABY BURN

Tons of people had a shitty 2009. My friends and I were no exception. Out with the old and in with the new, right? When out’s not enough, fire is. We had a bonfire and burned away all of the problems of 2009. Ex’s, bad jobs, bad people, you name it, we burnt it. (Note: burning fabric makes ash snow)

The fire was built in a firepit on a deck. It was blazing large enough for the Urban Outfitter to see it from her house. Almost. All was going great and all the evidence was destroyed.

Next thing you know, a dude in alley a few houses away starts yelling "yo!" Sasha replies: "yo!" and thinks its just some random begging for a cheesburger. Dude in alley yells up and asks what we are burning. Dude: "what are you burning?!" Sasha: "wood!" Dude in alley: "why?!" Sasha: "cause its cold out!" Dude in alley: "put it out now!" Sasha: "why?!" Dude in alley: "because if you don't well bring a hose through your house and do it for you!!!" yep that’s right, the fire department came. OOPS! Burn= SUCCESS!!!

PHILLY PHAMOUS

My friends and I know tons of people who are “fake famous” in the city. You know, the people you see everywhere posing all sexy in their Facebook pictures at every club, etc. etc. So we got the thinking, we are pretty much D-List celebs. Thanks to Philly Phaithful, we may have upped a letter.

Dan and his partner have a really cool business designing funny Philly sports tees. I am anti-sports myself and even I find these tees appealing. I think Dan said it best… “You all look beautiful, dignified and generally unsure of what the shirts mean (but only on the inside--on the outside, you project sports knowledge like a visual encyclopedia)”

Here's a shot of my favorite and most over-worn shirt. Notice its black and white... and not sports related. See, there is something for everyone :)

Check out our pictures on the site here! If you see something you like, enter 'cutetees' at checkout for 15% discount! And if you send him pictures of yourself in Philly Phaithful gear, you can win free stuff. How’s that for a shameless plug? Also these tees are fully wearable with booty shorts and fishnets for a hot night out. We said so, and we are now internet celebs.

4 girls in t-shirts and their underwear, a bottle of wine and a few six-packs. Mike Whitson and his camera. Fun times.

TUESDAY BLUESDAY

This Tues… I haven’t slept in a while. Like I fully skipped sleeping last night in favor of getting caught up on work. But I gained 8 hours over the rest of the world.

Last Tuesday, I was significantly cooler, depending on who you ask. I was being spontaneous. We went to Dusk in Atlantic City. The bathroom was my favorite place. Maybe because it was the only place light enough for me to see. Plus it was just really cool looking in there. Looky looky…

SOME RANDOM TEXT

Day 2 of the new year was successful. As in I got dressed and socialized with people in real life (life in person, not skype or ichat). Thanks to MODG I wore two scarves. I red wined a little, I socialized with real people, and I even walked to the grocery store in 27 degree weather. Oh! And we cooked. Pork and sauerkraut, because I heard it’s good luck. Anyone else heard of this? Anyway, it was delicious and I figured there is no way its gonna hurt. I am all positive vibes and happy thoughts in 2010.

“pigs are considered good luck charm symbols and cabbage leaves are symbolic of money, thus having pork and Sauerkraut are felt to be the best way to pave the way for the New Year. Pigs became good luck charms and were also used then for saving money in piggy banks."

I mean when else can you hang out with good friends and discuss things like wave caps and scrapple and sit back and say it was a good Saturday night?
