FROM WHITE TO WAYNE

Ok as you may or may not have seen on the news, there is a Dallas cheerleader who is in a lot of trouble for dressing up in “blackface” for Halloween. She was Little Wayne and I think its hilarious. I found some pictures on www.deadspin.com and had to share. I like Edward Cullen too. I had to include both shots with him. Also the comments below are from the site, I guess people are split on whether or not its a big deal. The funniest part of all this is the pictures were pulled from her Facebook page. Hello...... have we not learned its the devil?

"I got a grill, I don't need to get my tooth fixed. The Tooth Fairy will retire if I use it." - Lil Wayne

“Besides, check it out: she's with some black people. If one black person accepts your costume by not stabbing you in the spine, you're officially not racist.” ----Deadspin.com

“If anyone is racist, it's these Oompah Loomphas in ... Mexicanface? Jalapenoface? Brownface?”--- Deadspin.com

For some of this it may look like a family reunion....

I had to look up Blackface to see what the big deal was. Here’s what wikipedia said: “Blackface was an important performance tradition in the American theater for roughly 100 years beginning around 1830. It quickly became popular overseas, particularly so in Britain, where the tradition lasted even longer than in the US, occurring on primetime TV. White blackface performers in the past used burnt cork and later greasepaint or shoe polish to blacken their skin and exaggerate their lips, often wearing woolly wigs, gloves, tailcoats, or ragged clothes to complete the transformation. Later, black artists also performed in blackface.”

WHERE THE Dirty Hipsters ARE

For those of you who don't know, there are very few things I love as much as I love Britney. One of those things is Where the Wild Things Are. I always seem to find good stuff now that the movie is out. The first is a facebook steal!!

Here's my favorite quote from the article:

"No place is free of conflict and bad feeling, and no person has the power to make problems disappear. Where there is happiness — friendship, adventure, affection, security — there is also, inevitably, disappointment. That’s life." I actually don't agree that is the strongest message in the movie, but its a good argument. I think that there is a place where only the things you want to happen happen. We just haven't found it yet.

Carol: [from trailer] It's going to be a place where only the things you want to happen, would happen.
Max: [from trailer] We could totally build a place like that!

[from trailer]
KW: I don't won't you to go, I'll eat you up I love you so.

Judith: Happiness isn't always the best way to be happy.

Max: The vampire bites off the top of a building and loses his teeth. Another vampire says, 'Why are you crying? Those are your baby teeth.' And he says, 'No they're not. They're my adult teeth.'

Max: Did you make this?
Carol: Yeah, yeah.
Max: It's very good.
Carol: We were gonna make a whole world like this. Now, everyone used to come here, but you know... you know what it feels like when all your teeth are falling out really slowly and you don't realize and then you notice that, well, they're really far apart. And then one day... you don't have any teeth anymore.
Max: Yeah.
Carol: Well it was like that.

On another note, how great are the girls from The City? Roxy is actually so funny and the blonde from Elle is equally b****y. And blogs are the newest source of information. Because they said so.

MAKE DOROTHY JEALOUS

Ok I stole this from a cool girl I work with's Fbook page. These are so cute!

These adorable deep-red Jeffrey Campbell booties remind me of something my (hopefully stylish) Norwegian ancestors would have worn under their wool skirts as they swished through the snow, their hair rolled up in long braids. I love the details on these shoes - not only do they lace up, but they buckle too, and they're lined with faux sheepskin, so even when I'm wearing heels, I'll feel like I'm in cozy slippers. The contrasting textures of the suede and leather of the boots add subtle interest to the shoe. I can't wait to wear them with a pleated plaid skirt, a warm wool sweater and a capelet. My ancestors would be proud! -Turi, Fashion Writer

YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE KIDS

Ok lets face it, there are some people out there who should just not have a kid. I was doing a charity event at this big open air area. Me and my girls were pouring beer for tips to be donated to the Race for Hope. So at one point we only had one keg tapped, so enforced a one beer per person rule. This pregnant woman comes up wasted and asks for a beer. I figure who am I to judge and give her the beer. She says she needs another one for her husband. I tell her to give her husband the one I just gave her. She says I need one for myself. WTF? Are you effing kidding me? The UO was with me and completely traumatized by the event. So anyway, here's the worst parenting all rolled up into one neat little website.

ANOTHER NIBBY SIGHTING

And no this one isn't on dudes at El Camino!! Thanks Fox for the celebrity trend report.

I HAVE A DVR DEMON.

My DVR is trying to ruin my pretend TV life.  Wednesdays are my absolute top television entertainment nights, and some sort of evil demon has infiltrated the DVR technology and decided not to record any of my Wednesday night productions.  Top Chef.... gone, ANTM.... gone, and one of my new faves, Glee... gone.  Why are you doing this to me DVR demon?  What have I ever done to you?  And no, of course the episodes are not up online for my viewing convenience and pleasure.  However, I do have a plan.  My amazingly wonderful Tree Friend will be setting me up in front of her TV with our fav app Skype.  This is the free web-cam app that we use to see each other on a daily basis.  It's the best thing since... well I don't know, but it's just dandy. The quality obviously won't be tops, but I will take what I can get.  Shout out to Skype, we love you.  We really should be some of your top spokes peeps.  I even gave a speech about you in class and received an A.  What whaaaat!  So for the rest of the day I will be on a demon hunt.  I will show no mercy.

And for anyone who wants to check out some Skype fun for themselves....

See Skype, another shout out.  We should be getting an endorsement deal any day now.
